Middle School Pupils Take Part in Fun Run for Charity

Foundation: Moore Foundation

A school fun run in the UK was so successful this year that more than 650 students ran in itall to raise money for charity.

Students at Broadstone Middle School in Stockton-on-Tees took part in either a 1.5, 3, or 5K route, finishing in the middle of the school's playing field, the Northern Echo reports.

They wore yellow to support the Yolanda Moore Foundation, a charity set up by the mother of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run six years ago.

Some of the money raised will go to the school's sports and creative arts departments, while others will go to Julia's House, a local women's refuge.

"We were lucky that the run was held on a lovely day and as well as keeping the children fit and healthy, it allowed the children to collaborate, achieve, and be creative and express themselves in a fun way," says the PE teacher who organized the run.
